Ron Timehin is an award-winning photographer and video director based in London, of British Sierra Leonean and Nigerian descent.
Ron is known for creating human-centred documentary-style storytelling for culture and commercial brands, mixing portraiture and a sense of place across stills and film. In essence, people and belonging.
Ron has collaborated with brands including Apple, Nike, Sony, Adobe, and Disney, and his work has been featured in publications such as British Vogue and the Financial Times. He is particularly proud of his contribution to Dove’s Reclaiming School Picture Day, a film that addresses race-based hair discrimination and its impact on young people. His film contributed significantly to changing legislation in the UK.
Ron’s work has been selected as a winner of the prestigious Portrait of Britain award, Vol. 8, led by the British Journal of Photography, with his image displayed on billboards nationwide and published in their annual book.
His journey has also led him to establish ambassadorship contracts with amazing companies such as Sony and Adobe. These partnerships have been instrumental in pushing the boundaries of his craft, and he is grateful for the ongoing creative exchange they provide.
Alongside commissions, Ron’s personal work continues to deepen his visual language. His first monograph, London Fog, is a love letter to the city that shaped his eye. He also shares his process through talks and workshops, helping the next generation of image makers create work with intention, craft, and feeling.
